Material guides
Specifications, chemistry and typical service for every material family we manufacture flanges and fittings in.
Choose a material family
| Material | Summary |
|---|---|
| SS 904L and 254 SMO | Super-austenitic stainless steels for sulphuric and phosphoric acid service and high-chloride water. |
| Duplex and super duplex | Two-phase stainless steels with roughly twice the yield strength of 316L and much better chloride resistance. |
| Titanium | Titanium resists seawater, wet chlorine and oxidising chlorides almost completely, at about 56% of the density of steel. |
| Nickel alloys | For acids, chlorides and temperatures where stainless and duplex steels are not enough. |
| Cupro-nickel | Copper-nickel resists seawater corrosion and marine fouling, which is why it is standard for shipboard and coastal seawater systems.. |
| Carbon and alloy steel | The bulk of most piping projects. |
