A loose backing flange paired with a stub end. Only the stub end touches the fluid, so the flange can be a cheaper material.
About lap joint flanges
The lap joint flange (LJ) rotates freely on the stub end, which makes bolt-hole alignment easy and suits lines that are opened often.
On 904L, duplex, titanium or nickel-alloy lines, a carbon steel or stainless backing flange with an alloy stub end costs far less than a solid alloy flange. Stub ends come from our sister site PipeFittings.co.in.

Packing
Faces protected, rust-preventive coating on carbon steel, packed in wooden cases or on pallets. Seaworthy packing for export orders.
